Amara Raja Threatens Expansion Elsewhere if Telangana Government Fails to Honor Commitments

Chairman Jayadev Galla Voices Concern

Group Chairman Expresses Concern Over Telangana Government's Financial Health

Hyderabad, August 10, 2024 - In a significant development, Amara Raja Group, a leading battery manufacturer, has threatened to seek expansion opportunities outside Telangana if the state government fails to honor its commitments.

Chairman Jayadev Galla expressed deep concern over the government's financial health and its ability to meet its obligations to Amara Raja.

The group had earlier planned to invest approximately $2 billion in a new plant in Telangana. However, Galla stated that the government's inaction has put those plans in jeopardy.

"We have been waiting for the government to fulfill its promises for over a year now," Galla said. "If they do not act soon, we will have no choice but to look for other locations for our expansion."

The government has yet to comment on the matter.
