Chelsea reclaim top spot after dominant win over Everton

Blues go three points clear of Manchester City

Reiten, Cuthbert on target as Chelsea continue impressive form

Chelsea returned to the top of the Women's Super League table with a convincing 3-0 victory over Everton on Sunday.

Guro Reiten scored two penalties and Erin Cuthbert added a third as the Blues extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight matches.

Reiten opened the scoring from the spot in the 27th minute after Niamh Charles was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

Chelsea doubled their lead 15 minutes into the second half when Reiten converted another penalty, this time after Izzy Christiansen had fouled Lauren James.

Cuthbert wrapped up the victory with a well-taken finish in the 83rd minute, ensuring that Chelsea remain firmly in contention for the title.

The Blues are now three points clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand. Arsenal remain top of the table, two points ahead of Chelsea.

Chelsea will be hoping to continue their impressive form when they face Manchester United in their next league match on February 11.
